Catching up with friends

It's been amazing the number of wonderful people we have met along this journey (and the really bad ones).  Sunday we had the chance to catch up with some good friends from Florida that are in the home stretch and could go home on Friday...YEAH!  Also, another friend, Kim, (that we have talked to and emailed for months now) who is from St. Louis...GO! Cardinals! that we finally got to meet in person with her little boy, Zach. Kim is hoping to go home next week.  Please pray for these families that this part of the process ends and they can finally take their babies home.

We met up at Central Park and walked the streets of Antigua.  Debbie and Kevin have been here since May (OH MY GOD) and know the city very well, especially where to eat.  We shopped and had a really nice lunch together.  Of course we had our gripe session over our adoption agency.  All three of us have the same pitiful woman that should have had us home by now.

All of the kids are really seasoned travelers.  They do so well out and about on the rough cobblestone streets.  Ozzy just likes to go and see.  It doesn't matter what it is he just likes to go and Antigua has all a one year old wants to see.  Animals, bright colored buildings, bright art and some things I don't even know what they are but Ozzy seemed to enjoy them.  The one thing I did notice today that goes with the past few clingy days is he seems to get upset when Guatemalan women talk to him in spanish.  We don't know what they are saying, but there must be some association that he doesn't like.  Ruth can talk to him and he is fine and even Daisy was really good with him on Thursday.  We'll see what the next few days show.  I may have to start scaring them off...those of you that don't know me...well I'll tell you about it if I have to move any of them out of his way.

Another first on Sunday - - Ozzy ate his first corn on the cob!  He would have eaten it all if he hadn't dropped it.  He is really starting to mimic what wdo and say.  He is trying very hard to say thank you and again today everything went to his ear with a big "hello" when he hears a phone. Walking is just a week away (my opinion) because he is standing by himself and cruising...I didn't know what that was until Saturday.  Cruising is when a baby walks while holding on to something.  He goes all he way around the room and every piece of furniture.  He also got his first spanking from daddy Sunday night before bath time.  Please do not respond to this, if you had been here you would have done the same thing.  Once we got into the water we were best buddies again.

And finally a few pictures from today's outing.

First Visit to the Memphis Zoo

Sunday, February 1 was such a beautiful "spring like" day here in Memphis so we decided to have our first adventure at the zoo. Ozzy loved the animals, mostly the bears and monkeys. Enjoy the slide show above.
