It's official...VZV

We took Ozzy to the hospital this morning (Santiago Apostol Centro Medico) waited 10 minutes and was ushered in to see the doctor. He does have chickenpox (varicella zoster virus).  We didn't overreact we called Mayra last night to check on the possible problem with our Embassy physical tomorrow and she said we were going to the doctor this morning.  That's how we wound up at the hospital.  Normal course of virus lasts about seven days. The treatment here is to take anti-itch drops once a day and rub yourself down with cornmeal all over your body at night.  Wow what a crusty bed.  We are going the American way, calamine lotion and use the drops he prescribed.  The doctor said this would not effect our Embassy physical tomorrow. We hope he is right.  Doctor's exam (at the hospital) 150Q or $20US paid in cash to the Doctor in the exam room.  Anti-itch drops 58Q or $7.84US.  You have to love this cash/no wait medicine.

First Visit to the Memphis Zoo

Sunday, February 1 was such a beautiful "spring like" day here in Memphis so we decided to have our first adventure at the zoo. Ozzy loved the animals, mostly the bears and monkeys. Enjoy the slide show above.
