One Year Later

It was exactly one year ago tonight that we received our referral and the first pictures of a 2 1/2 month old little boy...Osvaldo.  The first picture we looked at is the one that has been in the upper right of our blog since day one.

A lot has happened over the past year.  We have lost several family members and friends to death, we also learned that our adoption agency is bad, our counselor is crazy, the US government should stay out of our business because they only mess things up, our US Attorney was behind the government getting involved in the adoption mess that caused some of the delays, there are some really evil people in Guatemala, many very poor with a heart so full of the Love of God that they don't mind and a lot of really great ones that love the Lord and only want the very best for this country, it's future and the future of its children.

But most importantly we saw God Almighty do miraculous things for us.  When I say we saw it I mean we witnessed first hand without a shadow of a doubt the Hand of God move people out of the way and put people in their place to help us. We witnessed men and women's minds changed for us and then change back when we were through.

And we learned just how many people love us, have prayed for us and would do anything we asked to help.  One very special lady that just stepped into our lives about four years ago, Faye Edwards, has literally adopted Kimberly and me.  We can honestly say that this year would have been much harder and we couldn't have accomplished it with as much peace of mind without her.  Faye has dedicated herself to taking care of us, our home and especially our dogs.  I don't know anyone that is looking more forward to seeing Ozzy than Faye.  If you know her you understand that statement. Faye is one of those rare people you come across that will make you feel special or important on those days when you know you're really not.  Kimberly and I are better people for knowing her and Ozzy has no idea what he has waiting for him in Memphis.

That is just a little bit about one of over a hundred people we could tell you about. More tomorrow night.  Please keep us in your prayers over our last few days in Guatemala...I could do without anymore earthquakes personally.

Wow, what a year.

First Visit to the Memphis Zoo

Sunday, February 1 was such a beautiful "spring like" day here in Memphis so we decided to have our first adventure at the zoo. Ozzy loved the animals, mostly the bears and monkeys. Enjoy the slide show above.
